Mary Jane Allen
90, Indianapolis/Avon, gained her angel wings on Sept. 15, 2019. She collected angels for years and now she gets to have and be with the most beautiful one's she's ever seen. She was an activities director later going into marketing for West Park Nursing Home and Crestwood Village. She was a member of the American Legion Women's Auxiliary in Avon, Red Hat Society, and Highway 40 Redevelopment Group. She was a Senior Reagent for the Speedway Moose Lodge where she supported the Moose Heart Children's Home. She started the Best Friends Program for School 67 in Indianapolis as well. She said "I lived a life that's full and I did it my way!" She was preceded in death by her husband James M. Allen; children Gregory Weaver, Alexander Allen, Joanna Fife; granddaughter Carey Williamson; parent William and Mildred Meredith; sister Hope Anne Lowe; brother William R. Meredith. Survivors include her children Patty (John) Williamson, Dennis (Eva) Allen; daughter-in-law Debbie Combs; 17 grandchildren; 38 great grandchildren and 8 great great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 10:30 am to 12:30 pm Thurs. Sept. 19 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with a Women of the Moose Ritual at 12:30 pm with funeral services following. Burial will be in Brownsburg Cemetery.
