Obituary

Mary Virginia Bauman Black of Brownsburg went home to be with the Lord on Feb. 6, 2013, at the age of 76. She was born in Long Beach, CA on February 13, 1936 to Rev. Paul and Aldine Bauman. She was a graduate of Warsaw H.S., attended Grace College in Winona Lake, IN, and received her nursing diploma from Parkview Hospital in Ft. Wayne, IN. She was an active member of Bethesda Baptist Church as an AWANA leader and in women's ministry where she enjoyed preparing dinners for grieving families and knitting hats for the needy. Her favorite Bible verses were Proverbs 3:5-6. Mary married M. James Black, M.D. in 1958. He preceded her in death in 2007. She is survived by sons David J. Black, M.D. and Daniel J. Black, daughters Lori Lynn Wilmot, Marilie Ann Marks, and Melodie Alaine Kindig, sister Carolyn R. Rutherford, eight grandchildren, and three step-grandchildren. She was also preceded in death by her brother, Louis Paul "Sonny" Bauman. Services will be at noon Saturday Feb. 9 at Bethesda Baptist Church with calling at 10 a.m. A private interment will be at the Lizton Knights of Pythias Cemetery. Memorials may be made to ABWE (Baptist World Missions) in care of Bethesda Baptist Church.
