Mary D. Retz
age 88, Brownsburg, passed away Feb. 23, 2014. She had been a registered nurse for 45 years and formerly worked at Brownsburg Health Care. Her husband of 46 years, William Retz, preceded her in death in 1995. She loved the Cubs, birdwatching, crossword puzzles, but most of all, she loved her family. Nothing made her happier than gathering the entire family for dinner. Survivors include children Jeff (Judy) Retz, Linda (Bruce) Stickle and Amy (Ron) Holtz; grandchildren Kimberly (Tim) Smith, Lisa (Derek) Guyer, Diana (fiancé Clayton McPeak) Retz, Austin and Will Stickle, Brad and Brian Holtz; great grandchildren Landon and Chloe Smith, Malachi, Caitlyn, Josiah, Annabelle, Enoch and Samantha Guyer. Funeral services will be 1pm Wed. Feb. 26 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with visitation there from 11am to 1pm. Burial will be in Brownsburg Cemetery. Contributions may be made to the Hendricks County Humane Society or the Broad Ripple United Methodist Church. The family wishes to express their deep appreciation for the care shown by the staff at Brownsburg Health Care.
