Mary Vivian Smith, age 100, Brownsburg, formerly of Owensburg, passed away peacefully on Sunday Jan. 4, 2015. She was the daughter of Anna and William Strosnider and was born in Owensburg July 10, 1914. She married Cleve Smith, who preceded in death. They were married 57 years. She was excited to celebrate her 100th birthday with family and friends. Mary, as a former resident of Owensburg, was active in her community for decades. She was honored to serve as Grand Marshal of the Owensburg Founders Day Parade in September. She was the mother of Janice (Gene) Baker and Rhelda (Willis) Horn, both of Brownsburg. Mary had eight grandchildren, 16 great grandchildren, and eight great great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4-7pm Friday Jan. 9 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg. Graveside services will be 11am Sat. Jan. 10 at the Owensburg Cemetery. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Owensburg Church of Christ, 6664 S. High St., Owensburg, IN 47453
