Matthew Carey Smith, age 56, passed away in Brownsburg, IN. Born by parents Saundra Owings and Ron Smith, Matt lived much of his life in Indianapolis, IN before moving to Sarasota, FL in 2024. Matthew spent his time exploring his new city and taking long walks along the water.

One of Matthew's favorite quotes was "Don't Look Back, You're Not Going That Way," and it was a mantra to how he lived his life. He was spirited, outgoing and altruistic. Matt is survived by his parents, Saundra Owings and Ron Smith, his siblings, Michael Smith and Kristine Smith, and his children, Carson Smith, Riley Smith, Quincy Smith, Reese Crawford, Harper Crawford and Maison Crawford.
