Melissa Sue Patterson 42, of Brownsburg, Indiana, passed Wednesday, April 11, 2012. Melissa was born in Danville, Indiana on April 6, 1970. She graduated from Brownsburg High School in 1988, and received a BS degree from Ball State University in 1992. Melissa worked at Georgetown Animal Hospital before becoming an employee at AT&T. Melissa was the loving daughter of Bill and Mary Ann (Dickerson) Patterson, who now reside in Pittsboro. She was the devoted sister to Ann and her husband, Scott Wells. Known affectionately as Mimi, she also left a niece, Kaitlin and two nephews, Jake and Tommy Wells, who absolutely adored their sweet and fun-loving aunt. Her passion in life was helping other people and reaching out in support of all animals. Melissa's greatest attribute was caring for others before she cared for herself. Her family hopes to emulate Melissa's strength and fortitude for life. She loved her family dearly. A private family service will be held.
