Merrill L. Butler Jr. of Brownsburg, Indiana passed away January 27, 2023.  He was born August 14, 1938 in Lawrence County, Indiana, the son of Merrill L. and Mary Ray Butler.  He is survived by his wife, Callie Horton Butler, and daughters, Stacey L. Fuller, and Jennifer L (Richard) Rice, grandsons Jonathan Fuller, Joshua Fuller, and Nicholas Rice, and granddaughter, Amanda Delcie Rice.  He is also survived by his sister, Phyllis Coelho of League City, Texas.

Merrill graduated from Shawswick High School, Bedford, Indiana and was employed by Duke Energy, Plainfield, IN, until retirement.  He also established M.L. Butler and Associates, a custom home building business constructing homes in Hendricks and surrounding counties.

Merrill was a long time member of Bethesda Baptist Church, Brownsburg, Indiana where he served on the Mission Board and the Bethesda Christian Schools Board.  He was currently a member of Faith Baptist Church of Danville, Indiana.

Visitation will be Thursday February 2 from 5pm to7pm at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, Indiana.  Funeral services will be held at 10am Friday February 3 at Faith Baptist Church, Danville, Indiana.  There will be one hour of visitation at the church from 9am to 10am prior to the funeral.  Memorial gifts may be made to Faith Baptist Church, Danville, Indiana for their Travel Bus Project.
