Michael Barrett

1933-2026

Michael Clyde Barrett, aged 92, passed away on August 27, 2026. Born on September 19, 1933, in Indianapolis, Indiana, Michael prioritized family and friendship above all else.  

A graduate of Washington High School, Michael earned both a bachelor’s and master’s degree from Indiana State Teachers College in Industrial Education and was an active member of the Lamda Chi Alpha Fraternity. While in college, Michael met Sandy, to whom he was married for 70 years. After serving in the US Army from 1954-1956, Michael taught Vocational Printing at Washington High School for 21 years and then worked for Printer Supply of Indiana until his retirement in 1995.

Michael built a life centered on service, hard work and deep love for his family. He enjoyed golfing with friends, fishing, and spending time with family at Heritage Lake. He was a frequent volunteer for the United Methodist Church and Hendricks Regional Hospital.

Michael is survived by his wife, Sandy, two sisters, Donna Walker and Judy Minnick, two daughters, Barbara Bradley (Geoff) and Nancy Bless (Mark), 5 grandchildren, Whitney Rutz, Lauren Allen, Taylor Buis, Cassie Crone and Tyler Bless, and 12 great-grandchildren.

A private service will be held at a later date.
