Michael Thomas Clouser
75, Brownsburg, passed away on January 1, 2025 with family by his side. Born on May 26, 1949, to Thomas and Winifred Clouser, Mike was a loving and devoted husband, father, and grandfather who touched many lives.
After graduating from Warren Central High School in 1967 and attending General Motors Institute, he married the love of his life, Jill Mumaugh on July 25, 1969. Michael worked at P.R. Mallory in Indianapolis and attended school in the evenings earning a B.S. in Engineering from Purdue University, and an MBA from Indiana University. He continued his lifelong career at Mallory, becoming the Director of Engineering at Emerson Appliance Controls, for 45 years retiring in 2014. During his tenure he earned many accolades and awards most notably ten U.S. Patents.
Michael was a selfless man whose impact was copiously felt. He generously gave with his heart, time, talent, and pocketbook to countless organizations and people. Earlier in his life, he was a Jaycee and served as the Indianapolis and Indiana State President. Through the Jaycees he also served on countless boards including the 500 festival board and the Indianapolis Indians board. After retirement, Michael delved into serving St. Malachy Catholic Church. He was a devoted 4th degree member of the Knights of Columbus serving a term as the Grand Knight. Through the KofC he organized the Special Olympics Tootsie Roll Drive and was actively involved in a monthly pancake breakfast to raise money for charity. Michael also served on the Lawn Mowing Ministry and organized the volunteers for the Cathedral Kitchen Ministry. He and Jill enjoyed delivering food and volunteering once a month in the kitchen.
When he wasn't volunteering his time, he loved to travel and plan trips for his family, genealogy, and astronomy. He loved history and shared that love with his two grandsons, often taking them on trips to see historical sites.
He was preceded in death by his son Steven Clouser; parents Thomas and Winifred Clouser; sister Pamela Giesler; and brothers Peter Clouser, Joseph (infant) and David (infant). Survivors include his wife Jill Clouser; son Christopher Clouser; daughter Kelly (Brad) Rose; brother George Clouser; sisters Carole Crist, Mary Lee; grandsons Jacob and Ethan Rose. Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm Wednesday, January 8 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg. Funeral Mass will be at 10 am Thursday, January 9 at St. Malachy Catholic Church, Brownsburg. Burial will be in Calvary Catholic Cemetery, Indianapolis.
