Michael D.
Tsakrios
August 7, 1945 – April 25, 2025
Michael "Bud" Tsakrios, 79 of Brownsburg passed away April 25, 2025. He was born August 7, 1945 in Gary, IN to Steve and Dorothy Tsakrios. He is preceded in death by his father Steve Tsakrios, his mother Dorothy Wyrostek, his brother Nick Tsakrios, and his twin sister Jeanne Tsakrios. He is survived by his wife Patricia Tsakrios, his sons Michael Jr. (Malissa) and Mark, his sister-in-law Ruthanne, and his half-brother Steve, as well as many nieces, nephews, grandchildren, and great-grandchildren.
After graduating from his beloved alma mater, George Washington High School, he married Patty in December of 1964. The two welcomed their boys in 1967 and 1969. Bud worked for Allison Transmission and retired after 43 years of service.
A dedicated Christian and follower of Jesus, Bud's love for the church and gospel music was an enormous part of who he was. He especially enjoyed years of watching his son, Bud Jr., play the drums during service. Bud met life with a tough and sturdy exterior, but anyone who knew him knows that, actually, he was a giant softie, spoiling his sons and grandkids any chance he could.
To know Bud was to understand that after Jesus and family, sports are at the forefront. A Hoosier at heart, he was a committed fan of all things Indiana sports from the Brownsburg Bulldogs to the IU Hoosiers, and from the Indy Pacers to the Indianapolis Colts. On Saturday nights, he could be found spectating all UFC fights. He is remembered for his passion for the gym he and Patty owned, "Bud's Gym". Striving to be stronger each and every day was a mantra he lived by even until his last days.
Bud's legend of hard work, loyalty to the end, and commitment to faith and family is everlasting in all whom he leaves behind. A celebration of life will be held at Trader's Point Christian Church Northwest Campus, 6590 S. Indianapolis Rd., Whitestown, IN 46075 on Saturday, May 10, 2025, visitation will be from 2-3pm and a service will follow at 3pm. Join us in casual attire, especially sporting some of his favorite teams: IU, Pacers, Brownsburg, Colts, and the Cubs.
