Obituary

Michael Eric Wagner, 56, Pittsboro, passed away Sept. 15, 2017. Michael was a loving father and husband who owned IT Solutions and was a member of Connection Pointe Christian Church. Along with his love for spending time with family and friends, Michael was an avid sports participant and fan. He enjoyed competing in triathlons, plus participating in other sports including golf with his family and acquaintances. A track and cross country runner at Decatur Central High School, Michael took part in the first Indy 500 mini-marathon in 1977 as a sophomore in high school. He continued his love for running. biking and swimming by taking part in numerous events and triathlons throughout his life. He also shared his running knowledge with mini-marathon training groups from Bethesda Baptist Church and Connection Pointe Church. In some of his free time, Michael enjoyed listening to music and playing one of the several guitars he had collected over the years. Michael was a passionate sports fan. especially to his beloved Steelers, Yankees and his alma mater Indiana University. He was preceded in death by his mother Barbara Wagner. Survivors include his wife Donna Wagner; children Madison Wagner and Elijah Wagner; father Joseph Wagner; brothers Mark Wagner and Matthew Wagner; sisters Monica Guthrie and Marla Day. Visitation will be from 4-7 p.m. on Wednesday, Sept. 20, at Connection Pointe Christian Church, with funeral services there at 12 noon Thursday, Sept. 21. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to the B&O Trail, 6038 Walnut Ct., Brownsburg, IN 46112 , Pittsboro Fire Dept. or the Indiana University Varsity Club (812-855-0866).
