Mildred Louise Steenbergen Niemeier, 91, ended her earthly journey on Dec. 6, 2015 at Hendricks Regional Health. She was born June 9, 1924 to Dewey and Edna Steenbergen of Glasgow, KY. She graduated from Glasgow High School in 1942. Mildred married Denver Niemeier on Oct. 22, 1942. They were married sixty-eight years and had three children Sandra, Dennie, and Steve. Mildred worked at Public Service of Indiana for many years, retiring in 1983. Mildred had a large family and loved and was loved by them all. She cherished her grandchildren, great grandchildren and great great grandchildren. She was a thoughtful person, always giving gifts and sending cards. Mildred was a great housekeeper and an excellent cook. Mildred's faith in God was exemplary and she was a faithful member of the Jamestown Church of Christ. She is preceded in death by her husband Denver, her parents, brothers Dewey Jr. and Jewett Steenbergen; sister Wanda Curd; grandson Robert Hughie Mizell Jr.; and a granddaughter Stacy King, as well as a son-in-law Ronald Walker. She is survived by her three children Sandra Walker, Indianapolis, Dennie Sue (Hughie) Mizell, Pittsboro, and Steve (Connie) Niemeier, Avon; sister Frances Holmes, Glasgow; 8 grandchildren, 25 great grandchildren and 4 great great grandchildren; many nieces and nephews. Visitation will be from 4-8pm Thurs. Dec. 10 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 1pm Fri. Dec. 11. Burial will be in Brownsburg Cemetery.
