Montie C. Heath

79, Brownsburg, passed away peacefully surrounded by his family on November 2, 2022, following several months of suffering from Mesothelioma.  Montie was born in Sumner County, TN on September 29, 1943, to Russell C. and Ella Marie Heath (Hammons).  As a young child, his family moved to Indianapolis and later to Brownsburg where he graduated from Brownsburg High School in 1963.  During his three years at Brownsburg High School, he met the love of his life, Anita Grass, and they were married on February 16, 1964.  Montie worked for over 40 years as a woodworker, building cabinets, furniture, and after retiring using a lathe to create beautiful bowls and vases.  Playing music was dear to him and he entertained at nursing homes and the Hendricks County Senior Services for over 30 years.  His children, grandchildren and great grandchildren were the joys of his life.  His father, mother, sister Sylvia Bocock, sister Gloria West, stepfather Chester Hammons, and stepbrother Chester Hammons, Jr. preceded him in death.  Remaining family members who will cherish his memory include wife, Anita; daughter, Lisa Graham (Larry); son, Gary Heath (Linda); granddaughters, Amanda Heath and Shelby Parsons (Kenny); grandsons, Kasey Hughes and Michael Heath; great granddaughters Kaybree Hughes and Samantha Hughes; great grandson Colton Parsons; brother Larry Heath (Melinda); sister Vicki Cox (Gary); stepsister Betty Padgett; stepbrother Jim Hammons; stepsister-in-law Cindy Hammons.  Visitation will be from 10am to 1pm Tuesday November 8 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 1pm.  Burial will follow at Brownsburg Cemetery.
