Morris Lee Lewis

Morris Lee Lewis (Louie) 94, of Brownsburg, passed away peacefully Wednesday, September 27, 2023. He was born March 14, 1929 in McCreary Co. Kentucky, a son of the late Roy W. Lewis and Artie (Hamblin) Lewis.      Proceeding Morris in death, is his wife Thelma E Lewis, children  Gary Lee Lewis, Dianna Lynne Wilhight, Kathy Mae Clip, Robert Eugene Hayden, William Lewis Hayden, and siblings Lloyd, Floyd, Illa, Louie, Estes G.(Bill), and Mary Jo. Morris is survived by sister Shirley Ann Bryant, children Mona Yvonne (Dan) Hardy, Jeron Rae Chingo, Gordon Stanley (Annie) Lewis, and Stacy Lee (Matt) Lewis, 14 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren.

Morris retired from the Indiana Woman's Correctional facility after 27 years of service.  Morris was an avid outdoorsman. He loved hunting, fishing, and gardening. He was known to be an amazing cook and had the figure to prove it. Morris was always quick with a joke or a story, sometimes ever so slightly embellished for entertainment. His smile and laughter will be missed greatly.

Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 pm Wednesday October 4 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 2 pm.  Burial will follow at Brownsburg Cemetery.
