Nancy C. Gorgol

67, Brownsburg, passed away on December 5, 2022, after a brave battle against cancer. She was winning the battle for 7 months, but ultimately her weakened immune system could not fight off a pneumonia that rapidly attacked her lungs, and she was peacefully taken by God on December 5. Nancy was born on October 16, 1955 to Edward Ormerod and Mary (Parrott) Ormerod, and her childhood was spent in Mitchell, Indiana and Indianapolis. Her first job was at Glendale Cinema Theaters 3 & 4, where she met her future husband, Bob. They began dating 50 years ago, in November 1972. In 1974, she graduated from Broad Ripple High School and began working at AFNB Bank in Indianapolis. In 1978 she and Bob were married. Sons Robert Jr and Joseph were born in 1980 and 1981, and Nancy quit work to devote full time to family. She volunteered at their grade school and high school and set them on a successful path through college. She was a member of St. Malachy Catholic Church. Nancy was preceded in death by her parents Edward and Mary Ormerod. Survivors include her husband Bob (Robert) Gorgol; sons Robert J. (Brandi) Gorgol Jr., Joseph A. Gorgol; sister Jeanne M. Rollins; brothers David Ormerod and Edward Ormerod Jr. Her extended family included her daughter-in-law, mother-in-law, stepmother-in-law, multiple brothers and sisters in law, nieces, nephews, grandnieces and grandnephews, all of whom she also loved as tremendously as she loved her own family. Visitation will be from 10:30 AM to 12:30 PM Mon. Dec. 12 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral mass at St. Malachy Catholic Church at 1:00 PM. Burial will be in St. Malachy West Cemetery, Pittsboro.
