Norma E. Lakin

94, of Brownsburg, passed away peacefully on October 14th, 2026. Norma was born in Indianapolis on April 25th, 1932. She was preceded in death by her parents Evan and Marie (Swisher) Hughes. Following her high school education, Norma went on to work with patient accounts at Indiana University Hospital. Through her 25 year career, Norma made many cherished connections and friendships. Outside of work, Norma was an avid golfer who continued to play as long as her health allowed her. She was also a longtime member of Brownsburg Christian Church, now known as Connection Pointe Christian Church.

Norma was also preceded in death by her beloved husband Robert Lakin; son David Lakin; daughter Debora Graham; granddaughter April Gibson. She is survived by her grandchildren Conley (Patty) Long, Anne (Ferdinand) Tordai, Jill Lakin, and Andrew Graham; sister Donna Groenert; 9 great grandchildren; 4 great great grandchildren.

Visitation will be held on Tuesday, October 20th from 11 am to 1 pm at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services to follow at 1 pm. Norma will then be laid to rest next to her husband in Brownsburg Cemetery.
