Norma J. Smolek, 77, Brownsburg, passed away May 29, 2016. She had worked in cafeteria service for many schools throughout her life. Her husband of 51 years, Edward Larry Smolek, and a sister Bette Vauris preceded her in death. Norma was a devoted wife and mother, who enjoyed being with family and her grandchildren. She was always kind to others and loved being with her friends, playing cards, Bingo or going on fun trips to the casino. Survivors include children Greg Smolek, Jeri (Phil) Worland and Carrie (Tim) Nelson; brother Darrell (Phyllis) Thompson Jr.; sister Joanie (Mike) Stattison; 7 grandchildren and 7 great grandchildren. A special part of their lives, beloved dog Pepper, also preceded her in death. Visitation will be from 10am-11am Sat. June 4 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with memorial services there at 11am.
