Patricia Rose Fruean
passed away peacefully at her home in Brownsburg, IN on November 4, 2016 at the age of 72. Patricia is survived by her husband of 50 years, Dr. William Fruean; her children, Dr. Lisa Smith (Peter) of Indianapolis; Christine Pagan (Richard) of Dinwiddie, Virginia, and William Fruean (Saba) of Long Beach, California; her grandchildren Dillon and Victoria Smith, and Marina, Richard, Tabitha and Christian Pagan. Patricia was born in Cicero, IL on April 1, 1944 to Helen Jean Korkosz and Harold Henry Richards. She graduated in 1962 from Wheaton Community High School. She moved with her family to Scottsdale, Arizona where she graduated from nursing school. On September 24, 1966, Patricia married William Fruean, an Air Force officer. Military life took the family to Mississippi, then to Hawaii where the family lived for over 30 years. Patricia worked as an LPN at Tripler Army Medical Hospital, where she won the Department of the Army's Outstanding Civilian employee award in 1975, then leaving federal service to work as office manager in her husband's private medical practice. Once their children married and moved away, Patricia and William made Indiana their home to be closer to their children and grandchildren. Patricia enjoyed reading, gardening and spending time with her dog, Molly. Most of all, she treasured her time with her family, who were all present and surrounding her at the time of her passing. A Celebration of Life will be 4pm Friday Nov. 25, 2016 at the Zionsville Masonic Lodge, 106 N. 9th St., Zionsville, IN.
