Paul L. Guernsey Indianapolis, formerly of Pittsboro, passed away March 19, 2011, following a long illness. Paul was born Nov. 23, 1925 in Brownsburg, IN, to Ralph Eugene and Anna J. (Collins) Guernsey. He had one sister, Altha J. Sullivan. His parents and sister preceded him in death. Paul graduated from Danville High School, Canterbury College, Danville, and Butler University. He served in the Navy in WWII. He married Ida Jane Bennett in 1948 at the Pittsboro Christian Church, where he became a member. They had one son Robert Eugene Guernsey. Paul worked 7 years at Allison Division General Motors, then spent 30 years teaching math at Pittsboro and Speedway High Schools. He was instrumental in creating the computer program at Speedway. He is survived by his wife Ida Jane, son Robert Eugene, grandson Robert William, granddaughter Abigail Lynn Alterio, and a great granddaughter Elizabeth (Lizzie) Esther Alterio.
