Preston L. Gentry, 67, of Avon, Indiana passed away peacefully on his birthday, July 1, 2022, surrounded by family. He received the best birthday present imaginable - a reunion with his parents (Oris and Evelyn Gentry), grandfather (Arthur Gentry), and many other loved ones in the presence of Jesus. Preston grew up in Culver, IN, graduated with a bachelor's degree from Tri-State University, and worked as a computer programmer/director in Indianapolis for 30 years. He then redesigned his life, graduated from the Art Institute as a pastry chef, and pursued a life-long dream of owning his own business. Preston served the larger Brownsburg community with his business, DeLish Cakes, and delighted customers with his innovative wedding and special occasion cakes and desserts. He loved his church, Hope Community, and poured into the young lives of the Awana Cubbies program. Preston was a godly and faithful man and will be dearly missed.

Preston is survived by his wife of 35 years, the love of his life, Jan Gentry; daughter, Angela Purdy (Joshua); two granddaughters, Alethia Savage and Rain Purdy; brother, Terry Gentry (Sherry); two nephews, Scott Gentry (Danielle) and Brian Gentry (Darcie); two nieces, Kim Barnett (Mark) and Shannon Summers (Dave). We invite all loved ones and friends to join us in celebrating Preston's beautiful life at Hope Community Church on Thursday, July 7, 2022 at 12:00pm.
