Obituary

Ralph Franklin Bauer, 96, beloved husband, father, grandfather, great-grandfather went home to be with his Lord peacefully on October 18, 2025, surrounded by his family. Born on September 7, 1929, Ralph was the youngest of two sons born to Charles (Charlie) and Eva Bauer in Hamilton County Indiana. He is preceded in death by his parents and his brother Junior Lee Bauer.

Ralph married the love of his life Wava Maxine Wade on June 25, 1950. They were blessed to have celebrated their 75th wedding anniversary this past June. Ralph was a proud veteran of the U.S. Air Force during the Korean War. When his military service was complete, he returned to his employment at Link-Belt Bearing Division in Indianapolis where he worked until his retirement after 38 years. Ralph enjoyed his retirement years immensely, spending 37 years with Wava, traveling, square dancing, and spending time with family and friends in conversation and lively games of cards.

Ralph was a faithful servant of his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ. Over the years he served as Sunday School teacher, youth director, song leader, deacon and prayer warrior. Most recently he was an active member of City View Church in Avon, Indiana.

Ralph is survived by his wife Wava, two sons Jim (Bonnie) Bauer, Dan (Sarah) Bauer, four grandchildren, Melissa Bauer, Rebecca (Daniel) Sullivan, Jeremiah (Jamie) Bauer, Meredith (Michael) Rocha and five great grandchildren, Theodore, Owen, Landon, Gracelyn and Ellis. He also leaves numerous nieces and nephews, great friends and church family who loved him dearly.

The family wishes to extend their heartfelt gratitude to Legacy Hospice who tirelessly provided professional and compassionate care. They truly did become part of Ralph's family.

Visitation will be at City View Church, 275 Shiloh Crossing Drive, Avon, Indiana 46123 on Wednesday, October 22nd from 10 am to 12 pm; funeral service immediately following at 12 pm (noon). Interment at will follow at Washington Park North.

Pall bearers: Dennis Wade, nephew; Chuck Wade, nephew; Bill Bauer, nephew; Jeremiah Bauer, grandson; Daniel Sullivan, grandson-in-law; Michael Rocha, grandson-in-law.  Honorary pall bearer: Will Smith, brother in Christ.
