Ray Messinger

85, went to his eternal home on Thursday, December 27, 2018. Ray was one of nine children born to George and Rosa Messinger in Branchland, WV. He was a graduate of Guyan Valley High School and in the fall of 1952, he met his wife-to-be Barbara Bomar. Ray was an Army veteran and was a district manager for Exxon-Mobil, where he retired after 30-plus years of service. He was a life-long fan of WVU sports, enjoyed fishing, traveling with friends, and loved attending his grandchildren's activities. Ray loved the Lord and was most recently a member of Faith Baptist Church in Avon, IN. Ray is survived by his two children, Valerie (Christopher) Lorimer of Naperville, IL and Doug (Sarah) Messinger of Danville, IN. He has four grandchildren, Hannah and Nell Lorimer and Jessa and Luke Messinger. Visitation will be Wednesday, January 2 from 10:30-12:00 at Faith Baptist Church, Avon, with funeral services there at Noon. He will be buried in Sunset Memorial Park in South Charleston, WV.
