Raymond L. Meunier

94, Brownsburg, passed away on September 22, 2022.  He was born on Oct. 1, 1927 in Apalona Perry Co., to the late Clarence and Philomena Meunier.  Raymond attended IU Business College.  He served his country proudly in the Army in the Korean War with the 2 ^nd INF. DIV., earning 4 Bronze Stars.  He retired from Union Carbide in 1989.  Raymond was a member of the VFW, American Legion and Hendricks County Honor Guard.  He was a member of St. Malachy parish since 1940.  He helped start the athletic programs at St. Malachy serving on the Athletic Committee, the Booster Club and also on the Cemetery Committee.  Raymond coached football, track, basketball and wrestling while at St. Malachy.  He was awarded the Monsignor Albert award in 1974, along with the St. John Bosco award in 1980 from the (CYO) for many years of service to the youth of St. Malachy.  St. Malachy honored his family service by naming the football field Meunier Field.  Raymond loved the outdoors, loved hunting and spending time in the woods.  He was a lifetime member of the Knights of Columbus.  Raymond was preceded in death by his wife Eleanor of 63 years.  He is survived by his sister Annette Logston and eight children Devin (Renee), Michael (Jackie), Vince (Debbie), Mark, Theresa (John) Crowe, Bryon, Paul, Thomas, 13 grandchildren and 8 great grandchildren.  Visitation will be from 4 pm to 7 pm Tues. Sept. 27 at Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg, IN.  Funeral services will be held at 10 am Wed. Sept. 28 at St. Malachy Church.  Burial will be in St. Malachy Cemetery, Brownsburg.  Contributions may be made to St. Malachy Church Building Fund and/or Little Sisters of the Poor.
