Reva Jewell Fixsal went to be with the Lord at 6:00pm on December 10, 2020 at the age of 93 while surrounded by her loving family.

Reva was born in Overton County, TN on December 31, 1926 to Bluford and Pollie Jones. Even though she grew up during the Great Depression and her family was poor, she described her childhood as happy and full of love. At the age of 19, she moved to Anderson, IN to work for Delco Remy. She later worked for General Motors and then RCA.

In 1960, she met the love of her life, George L. Fixsal and they were married on April 23, 1961. They were married until he passed away in 1983. After his death, she finished raising her daughter Rita and then became a nutrition site manager for Council on Aging for eight years. She then retired to provide child care for her granddaughter Katelyn.

In her spare time, Reva was an excellent seamstress, upholsterer, and cook. She loved spending time in nature, gardening and reading. Reva was also an integral member of Emmanuel Christian Church, formally Garfield Park UCC, for 59 years. God and her family were always her first priorities throughout her life. Reva was a devoted Christian, mother, wife, and grandmother. She will forever be loved and cherished by her family and friends.

Reva was preceded in death by her parents and brothers; Clayton Jones, Harley Jones, and Thurston Jones, and her husband George. She is survived by her daughter Rita, son-in-law Darrell, and granddaughter Katelyn. Visitation will be held for friends and family on Monday, December 14, 2020 at Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg, IN from 11:00am to 1:00pm. The funeral service will follow at 1:00pm. Burial will be at West Ridge Park in Indianapolis, IN following the service. In compliance with current COVID-19 requirements and restrictions, guests are required to wear face masks and follow social distancing guidelines.
