Richard "Richie" Brian Berlyn age 49, North Salem, passed away Oct. 29, 2011. A true outdoorsman, his hobbies were snowmobiling, fishing and hunting, but most important to him were his God and his children. A wonderful father, he taught his son Wyatt how to fish, hunt, camp and be a man. He also taught him to love animals and do his chores, always thinking of and fighting for him. Like Wyatt, he loved chocolate chip cookies and Nesquick. The best Daddy in the world he loved daughter Piper and trips to Steak & Shake. His daughter said she never saw anyone fighting cancer so hard for family. He is survived by his wife Cindy and children Wyatt and Piper; parents Knight and Jean Berlyn; his older siblings Suzi Denton, Kari (Donnie) Matthews, Jimmy (Donita) Berlyn; nieces and nephews Nevada, Britter, Dustin, Nick, Andra, Alex, Boston, Wrigley and Epperly. Memorial services will be at 4pm Wed. Nov. 2 at the North Salem United Methodist Church, with visitation there from 1-4pm. In lieu of flowers, contributions may be made to Melanoma Research Foundation at www.melanoma.org
