Richard Beryl Hurst Passed away at 10pm Jan. 3, 2013 at his residence in Brownsburg. He was 83. Born July 8, 1929 in Winchester, IN, he was the only child of Joseph Hurst and Virginia Smith Hurst. He attended Dunkirk Schools and was a graduate of Hanover College where he was a member of Sigma Chi Fraternity. He was in the US Army from 1952-54 and spent 9 months in Germany. He worked in personnel at Buehler Corp from May 1955 to June 1966, Indus Div. of Carlisle Corp from Oct. 1966 to April 1974, Standard Locknut, Carmel, from May 1974 to Feb. 1976. From 1977 to 1990 he was a partner in Rimax, Inc. d/b/a Rugcrafters (a franchise for rug making, crafts and needlework) Washington Square Mall and Stitches, Speedway Shopping Center. After closing his stores, he worked for Kittles Furniture-Carmel as a sales representative until his retirement in 1994. Max G. McMurtry is his surviving business partner and co-resident. At his request, he will be cremated with no services or calling. He was a member of St. John the Evangelist Catholic Church, 126 W. Georgia St., Indianapolis, IN 46225.
