Rick Gibboney, 74, passed away in his home in Brownsburg, Indiana on October 31, 2019. Born in Troy, OH, Brownsburg was his home since his family moved here when he was 12.
He was preceded in death by Marcia, his loving wife of 49 years, and both of his parents. He is survived by his sisters Jill Canine and Lori Mink (Jim), brother Paul Gibboney, daughters Dawn Hickman (Ernie), Colleen Cross (Jon), and Jaclyn Nohren (Jeremy), grandchildren Wyatt Nohren, Josalynn Nohren, Ryan Hickman (Laura), Tiffany Ruble (Matthew), Abby Crary, Kayla Cross, Jacey Cross, and great grandchildren Aspen Hickman, Merrick Hickman, Matthew Ruble Jr., Kynley Crary, and Oakley Carey.
Rick spent his life helping others. He finished a long career as an IBEW electrician in December of 2008, retiring from Barth Electric. He retired from the Brownsburg Reserve Police Department with the rank of Captain. He was a member of the Brownsburg Conservation Club for 58 years, most of which he was the President. His Daughters and Granddaughters kept him active with the Brownsburg Girls Softball League over a span of decades. He was a friend, brother, father, grandfather, and great grandfather who will be sorely missed. The world lost a good man in his passing.
Visitation will be from 4-7pm Friday Nov. 8 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 10am Saturday Nov. 9.
