Robert W. Cheek Sr., lovingly known as Bob, passed away peacefully on July 28, 2025, with his family by his side.

Bob was born on March 1, 1949, in Indianapolis, Indiana. He was a devoted husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather whose greatest joy in life was his family. He leaves behind his beloved wife of 37 years, Debora Cheek; two sons, Robert Cheek Jr. and Jeremy Jay Weatherman; and daughter, Kelly Jo Ezell (Mike Ezell).

Bob was a proud grandfather to Evan Jacob Ackerman (Taylor Ackerman), Elijah William Ackerman (Rachel Ackerman), Molly Jo Ackerman, Patrick Weatherman, and Robert Weatherman. He was also blessed with five great-grandchildren: Holden, Karsyn, Parker, Mackenzie Jo, and Thomas William.

He is survived by his four brothers: James Cheek, Steven Cheek, Scott Cheek, and Dwayne Cheek. He was preceded in death by his parents, Florence Ginn and James Cheek.

Bob and Debora co-owned Plainfield Shooting Supplies in Hendricks County for 36 years. A true enthusiast, Bob had a passion for firearms and loved sharing that knowledge with others. He never met a stranger and could talk for hours about guns and cars, another of his longtime passions.

Above all, Bob was a man of faith in Jesus Christ and family man. He cherished summer visits with his grandchildren and found joy in every moment spent with his loved ones. His presence, humor, and generous spirit will be deeply missed by all who knew him.

Visitation will be at Faith Baptist Church, 3860 E. Main St., Danville, IN from 1:00 p.m. to 3:00 p.m. on Sunday, August 10. A service will begin at 3:00 p.m.

Bob's final resting place and graveside service will be Monday, August 11, at 1:00 PM at Chimney Rock Baptist Church, 1052 Squib-Ano Road, Somerset, KY 42501.

The family requests contributions be given to Faith Baptist Church in lieu of flowers in Bob's honor.
