Robert W. Keown
of Brownsburg, IN passed away on Oct. 3, 2013 in the company of his beloved wife Linda Kay (Roark). Keown was born at home on March 29, 1935 to Dueard and Corine Keown in Butler County, KY and moved to Indiana in 1940. Keown graduated from Lawrence Central High School in 1953 and served in the US Army from 1958-1963. In his professional life, Robert spent fifty years in the construction industry until his retirement in 2008. In his retirement, he enjoyed gardening, fishing, caring for his pets, Fox News and travel. He was a member of the National Concrete Masonry Association, The Construction Specification Institute, Brownsburg American Legion, Masonic Lodge #685, Scottish Rite, Murat Shrine and was a master gardener. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his six children and step children, Debbie Sarmiento, Diana Kimbley, Bob Keown Jr., Kerry Reifel (Chris),Danny Keown (Dawn), Kurt Wright, eight grandchildren and pets, Betty and Kitty. Visitation will be from 2 pm to 5 pm Sun. Oct. 6 in Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg with funeral services there 10 am on Mon. Oct. 7. Burial will be in Brownsburg Cemetery.
