Robert E. Lakin

86, Brownsburg, passed away Jan. 12, 2019. He had worked for Eli Lilly for 41 years, retiring in 1992. He served in the US Marines from 1950-52, and was a member of the Brownsburg American Legion and also Connection Pointe Christian Church. He was an avid golfer and loved to winter in Port Aransas Texas. Robert graduated from Tech High School in 1950. Robert enjoyed and loved taking care of his family. He was preceded in death by son David Lakin; granddaughter April Gibson; parents Otto and Marjorie Lakin; brothers Charles, Donald, and Kenneth Lakin; sisters Betty Lakin and Barbara Hunt. Survivors include his wife of 68 years Norma Lakin; daughter Debora (Jeffrey) Graham; daughter-in-law Catherine Lakin; brother Thomas Lakin; 4 grandchildren and 9 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 4-7pm Tuesday Jan. 15 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 10am Wed. Jan. 16. Burial will be in Brownsburg Cemetery.
