Robert M.
Paquin
September 28, 1931 – October 28, 2025
Robert Marshall "Bob" Paquin, age 94 of Brownsburg, passed away peacefully on Tuesday, October 28, 2025. Born in Willimantic, Connecticut on September 28, 1931, he was the son of late Leo Paquin and Edith (Barrow) Paquin. He grew up in Fall River, Massachusetts before moving to Indianapolis after his Marine Corps service in the Korean War.
Bob is survived by his bride of nearly 72 years, Barbara (Phipps) Paquin and children Patti (Rick) Cavanaugh; Kathy (Jerry) Gamache; Judy (Steve) Frazer, Robin (Steve) Morgan; Bob II (Charlene) Paquin; Jennifer (Cliff) Alley; and John Paquin. In addition, his three sisters (aka the Golden Girls) Lillian Sullivan, Claire Morrissey, and Ann Libbert and brother Tim (Chris) Paquin survive him as well as several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, his brothers Leo, George, Ronald, and Arthur Paquin, and grandson Kyle Robert Lewis.
Mr. Paquin was the fourth of nine children who enjoyed singing with their father while their mother played the piano. Family gatherings usually featured a clam boil, music, jokes, and lots of laughter. He moved to Indianapolis in 1954 with his bride to reunite with his Marine Corps barbershop quartet members. He sang at the former Won Ten Restaurant and Bar on South Pennsylvania, and as a vocalist with the Cuffy Morrison Band at the Indianapolis Columbia Club and Brody's Village Inn at 21st and Arlington. The quartet, called The Twilighters, also sang in a 15 minute spot after Gilbert Forbes & The News on the former WFBM-TV (now WRTV-6). He did all of this while working multiple jobs, including the Indianapolis Ice Company, Indianapolis Water Company, and eventually retired from TWA after working as an Air Cargo Agent and then a Customer Service Agent.
In addition to singing at weddings and other celebrations, he was a member of the Knights of Columbus Columbians men's chorus and regularly featured as a soloist at the Triad Concerts with the Indianapolis Maennerchor and the Murat Temple Shriners choirs. He was a member of St. Michaels, St. Gabriels, St. Barnabas, and most recently St. Malachy parishes where he also sang.
Mr. Paquin was very proud of serving his country. He achieved the rank of Sargeant and served in Korea with the 7th Battalion, 1st Marines Division. He wore his Marine Corps hat everywhere he went and loved it when people thanked him for his service. He was also proud to be a part of Indy Honor Flight #17 in April of 2016.
Family was everything to Bob. In addition to seven children, he was blessed with fourteen grandchildren – Caitlin and Sean Cavanaugh; Justin and Nathan Cupp; Derrick and Rachel Frazer; Joshua and Kyle Lewis (deceased); Kyle, Matthew, and Joel Paquin; and Aaron, Alexa, and Austin Alley – and seven great-grandchildren – Madyson Stewart and Peyton Lewis; Alden and Donovan Cupp; Carter and Lila Frazer, and Ruth Alley. They will always remember their "Cuckoo" and all his silly jokes.
Visitation will take place at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, Indiana on Monday, November 3, 2025 from 12:00 to 2:00 p.m. immediately followed by a service and military honors.
