Obituary

Robert "Bob" Francis Weaver, 71, of Brownsburg, Ind. passed away November 13, 2018 from Parkinson's disease complications. Born February 26, 1947, Bob grew up in Jamestown, Ind. with his parents, grandparents and sister.

An excellent student, Bob graduated from Granville Wells High School in 1965 before earning an electrical engineering degree from Purdue University in 1970 and a MBA from Indiana Wesleyan University in 1991. The owner of 15 patents, Bob used his genius to design award-winning components found in washing machines and dryers. As an engineering manager at Emerson Electric (previously called Mallory Engineering and later Nidec Motor Corporation), he helped the company expand globally, often spending months in China to establish manufacturing operations. Also, he served as a member of the Mallory Engineering Conservation Club. After innovating for 40 years, Bob retired in 2011.

He enjoyed playing chess, building stock car engines, and designing and finishing woodworking projects, which included, most notably, his family's two-story workshop and cradle. Also, Bob devoured the History Channel, Indianapolis Colts football, folk music, dogs and his black Corvette.

Despite his many academic and professional achievements and skilled hobbies, he was most proud to be the husband of Mary Ann (Nienabar), who proceeded him in death in 2013 after 30 years of marriage, and the proud father of Brian, born in 1991. He is survived by son Brian Weaver; sister-in-laws Irene Marcotte and Margie (Jim Bob) Baldwin; brother-in-law Jim Pickering; nieces Christy Baldwin, Kara Pickering and Michelle Forsythe; nephews Stephen (Jessica) Baldwin, Father Douglas Marcotte and Father David Marcotte; and close family friend Sheryl Sturgell-Cosner. Family, friends and former colleagues alike greatly miss his sarcasm and jokes.

Bob was proceeded in death by his father Francis Weaver in 1969, mother Mary Katherine (Smith) Weaver in 2004 and sister Barbara (Weaver) Pickering in 2010.

Visitation will be Monday, November 19, 10 a.m. – 12 noon, with the funeral service immediately following, at Matthews Mortuary in Brownsburg. Burial will be at Brownsburg Cemetery.
