Obituary

Roger Wayne Putty, aka, Roger or Rog, 57, was a razor-sharp-witted, keenly-observant, and relentlessly-kind human being. His caring nature and deep loyalty were evident in both his personal and professional lives. As a self-employed sales leader working in the insurance industry, it's no surprise he was annually the #1 Sales Manager for 30 years. Yes 30 years. Born on May 13th, 1964, in Greenfield, Indiana, and a graduate of New Palestine High School, Roger was one of the most genuine men you could possibly meet.  Many of his clients, lonely or not, reached out to him just to talk, because they knew he sincerely cared about each and every one of them. Roger helped anyone who asked, and he never expected anything in return.  He built both his career and family in the great state of Indiana. He built other things as well, as he was a ferociously gifted handyman. Like his father, Leonard, he could build or fix anything. You'd best keep him away from a tape measure or a jigsaw unless you wanted a new deck on the back of your house. And like most of us, he also had a few entertaining contradictions, such as always obsessing over his hair style, yet he also had such a deep love and affection… for hats. All sorts of hats. And what goes well with hats? Rustic boots of course. No one rocked those as well as Roger. Aside his deft construction skills, and his shrewd sense of fashion, his most significant contributions to this world, in addition to touching the hearts of all who met him, are his two daughters Allison and Abigail. A single interaction, with either of these amazing and beautiful girls, is a testament to Roger's caring and compassionate nature. To say he loved them dearly and above all other things is a vast understatement. He also loved drinking a fine glass of wine, most often with his fiancée Connie, who absolutely adored him. He also liked cigars, outdoor concerts, and he loved his dogs (Bash, Indy … and yes, even Holly). But if you only knew one thing about Roger, you knew how much he loved pizza. Allison and Abigail, and then pizza, in that order. Roger is preceded in death by his parents, Leonard and Helen Putty. He is survived by his two daughters Allison and Abigail, his fiancée Connie and his brothers Anthony (Teresa) and Tim (Dee) and his sister Tracy. Family and friends will gather together at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, IN, on Saturday December 18th. Visitation will be from 10am to 12pm, with the service beginning at 12pm. Burial will follow in the Brownsburg Cemetery.

Roger, your life was a true blessing, and your love will most certainly live on.  We love you so much.
