Ronald Paul Miller DVM
89, of Indianapolis, passed away on February 17, 2026. Ronald was born and raised in Ft. Wayne by his parents Herbert and Esther Miller. After high school, he went on to attend the Purdue School of Pharmacy graduating  in 1957, and later studied Veterinary Medicine with the first graduating class in 1963. After graduation, Ronald began practicing in Ladoga, IN two years before opening a small animal practice in north Brownsburg in 1965. Five years later, he and his wife built a new clinic east of Brownsburg where he practiced until 2009. Ronald then sold the clinic and continued his work as a relief veterinarian until 2020.
His professional work was not limited to veterinary science; Miller Enterprises was formed in 1981 to manufacture hard cast bullets until 1996. Ronald also had his pilot's license with instrument rating and loved the hobby of flying.
Some of the patients he treated during his career included a leopard that, unbeknownst to him, belonged to bank robbers, which he discovered when confronted by an FBI agent after a medicine packet was found in their belongings.
Ronald was a proud lifetime member of the American Veterinary Medical Association, as well as the Indiana and Central Indiana Veterinary Medical Association.
He was preceded in death by his parents Herbert and Esther Miller. Ronald is survived by his beloved wife of 55 years, Linda Miller; children Greg (Cindy) Miller of Indianapolis  and Cynthia (Gary) Kelly of Lafayette; sister Marilyn (Richard) Scoville of Fennville, MI; grandchildren Victoria Miller, Allan (Dawn) Lucas, Andrea (Ryan) Cox, Richard (Gabi) Miller, Sylvia (Dustin) Ranney; great-grandchildren Reilly Miller Ellis, Forest Ranney, Emma Cox, Novalynn Miller, Leo Lucas, and Juniper Ranney.
Visitation will be from 4 to 7 pm on Monday, February 23 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services on Tuesday, February 24 at 10 am. Ronald will be laid to rest in Sparks Cemetery, Pittsboro.
