Russell Keith Wernsman, age 76, Brownsburg, formerly of Centralia, IL passed away Aug. 13, 2014. He was born October 26, 1937 in Patoka, IL, son of Walter and Edna B (Lawrence) Wernsman. He married Judith Mae Chambers on July 11, 1958 in Centralia, IL. She survives in Brownsburg, IN. In addition to his wife, he is survived by his children; Donna Hughes (Randy), Andy Wernsman (Lori Rohner), Pam Bumgardner (Tim), Amy Thornhill (Connor); 13 Grandchildren and their spouses, Andy and Amanda Duensing, Josh and Nisi Duensing, Zach Duensing, Bryce Hughes, Hannah Hughes, Bryce and Stefanie Wernsman, Chelsea and Robert Belushi, Jaicie Wernsman and Kyle Conner, Weston Wernsman and Janae Taylor, Robby and Jessica Robertson, Connor and Carrie Robertson, Autumn and Jeff Groleski, Chase Thornhill; 5 great grandchildren, Miette' Duensing, Emma Wernsman, Tyler Robertson, Gage and Ava Grace Robertson; 2 brothers, Bob Wernsman and Mike Wernsman; 5 sisters, Evelyn Stover, Dorothy Choate, Juanita Bogue, Edna Barrow and Jane Peters; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his father, mother and brothers Joe Lee Wernsman, Dean Wernsman, Dale Wernsman, Charles Wernsman, Jerry Wernsman, Jack Wernsman, sister, Carol Willis. Mr. Wernsman was a retired foreman for Seip Service and Supply and was owner of Wernsman Oil Treating in Centralia, IL. He resided in Centralia, IL for 70 years, the last 6 in Brownsburg, IN. He was a charter member of Central City Lions Club, a member of the IOGA of Illinois and a Deacon at Central City Baptist Church. He was a Deacon Emeritus of Hope Community Church in Brownsburg, IN. Visitation will be from 10am-12 pm Sat. Aug. 16 at Hope Community Church, 3550 SR 267, Brownsburg, IN with services there immediately following. In addition a memorial service will be held in Centralia, IL 1pm Sun. Aug. 17 at Central City Baptist Church in the new Life Center. Memorials may be made to Hope Community Church Building Fund or Central City Baptist Church.
