Ruth Maxine Burns, 93, of Avon went home to be with the Lord Tuesday, August 9, 2016. Ruth was born in Brazil Indiana on April 16, 1923 to Roy and Florence Siegelin. She was married for 51 years to the late William Thomas Burns. Ruth and Bill lived most of their lives in Fort Wayne, Indiana where they were active members of Immanuel Baptist church and Blackhawk Baptist Church. They served the Lord in the church together in many capacities including hosting and supporting many missionaries. Ruth was a homemaker for many years and then worked as a skilled assistant to more than one academic dean at Fort Wayne Bible College. She was beloved by all her co-workers as well as the students. For the past several years she lived across the street from her son Warren in Avon, Indiana where she enjoyed her house and gardening. She delighted greatly in being able to see her many grandchildren and great grandchildren who live in the area. She also was active in Grace Fellowship Church and made many friends there. She is survived by two brothers, Donald Siegelin and Dale Siegelin (wife-Mary Kay), children Warren Burns (wife-Tillie) of Avon, Indiana and Peggy Vorholzer (husband- Roger) of Plano, Texas, 5 grandchildren and 19 great grandchildren. Visitation will be held at Grace Fellowship Church in Avon on Friday, August 12 from 1:00 PM to the time of the service at 3:00 PM. Burial will be at Highland Park Cemetery in Fort Wayne, IN at 10:00 AM on Saturday, August 13. In Lieu of flowers memorial contributions may be made to Grace Fellowship Church, 6121 E.
