Scott A.
Vaughn
February 25, 1955 – March 21, 2021
Scott Allen Vaughn
66, Scott was born on February 25, 1955 to the late Carl and Barbara Vaughn of Brownsburg, IN. He passed away on March 21, 2021. He is survived by three siblings Mike Vaughn (Linda) of Steamboat Springs, CO, Judy Northern (Terry) of Pittsboro, IN and Tim Vaughn (Christina) of St. Augustine, FL. Scott grew up loving motorsports. He began racing go carts at a young age and on any typical Sunday the entire Vaughn family would spend the day at the track. He went on to race SCCA Formula Fords (F-4), a hobby that continued through the early 90's. A severe crash ended his driving career but not his love of racing. Scott was a proud member of the USMC and served our country during the Vietnam War. His field of expertise in the service was electronics which he later used in civilian life. He was a bio-medical engineer for Community Hospital for more than 20 years and ended his career working for the Dialysis Center of Indiana. Scott was a gentle and loving individual. He was always willing to help a co-worker or friend with any mechanical issues they had with their vehicles. His endless love of all animals never left a stray cat without a home. The fattest squirrels and rabbits in the neighborhood were always in Scott's backyard. When medical conditions prevented Scott from driving he began walking to a local restaurant, Flap Jacks. It was there that he found an extended family of caring and loving individuals that would call and check on him in the rare event he didn't show up for breakfast. Scott deeply valued his daytime caregiver, Jackie Chandler, who also became part of his extended family. Scott will be buried in Brownsburg Cemetery next to his parents. Graveside services will be at 3 pm Wed. Mar. 24 at Brownsburg Cemetery. In compliance with current requirements and restrictions, guests are required to wear masks and observe social distancing. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Hendricks County Humane Society at www.hendrickshumane.org or Misty Eyes Animal Center at www.mistyeyes.org
