Obituary

Sharon Sue Dodson

82, of Brownsburg, passed away peacefully on May 12th, 2026. Sue was born in rural Knox County Indiana to her parents John Raymond and Flora Ellen Odom on October 22nd, 1943. She led a life of service; Sue was an organized and loving homemaker who often babysat for many other kids in the community. Sue and her husband Ronald were longtime members of the Brownsburg Church of Christ before transitioning to the Crawfordsville area, where they were welcomed into the Jamestown Church of Christ. Sue was known by friends and family as being an excellent host. Her parties and celebrations were filled with her beautiful floral arrangements. She found joy in the art of decorating and bringing the people she loved together. She was a faithful wife of 61 years, a beloved mother and cherished grandmother.

Sue was preceded in death by her parents John and Flora, son Jerry Wayne Dodson, as well as her 9 siblings: Eugene Odom, Judy Winters, Frances Stoltz, Joan Moore, Marilyn Jane Shaw, Marion Odom, Boyd Odom, Lloyd Odom, and Larry Odom.

She is survived by her husband Ronald Dodson; daughter Lynn (Randy) Hobson; grandchildren Megan (Austin) Locke and Mandy Hobson; great grandchild Skylar Locke; brothers and sisters in law Jim (Karen) Dodson and Sarah Bailey; nieces and nephews Michael (Janelle) Dodson, Deanna (Lanny) Case, Jennifer (Craig) Newton, Susan (David) Eldridge; great nieces and nephews Brock (Kaitlyn) Dodson, Claire (Myles) Hester, Ethan Dodson, Lucas Dodson, T.R. Dodson and Riley Dodson, Eliza and Emma Eldridge, Lizzie (Vincent) Landfair, Steven Case.

A visitation will be held on Thursday, May 21st from 11 am to 1 pm at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services to follow at 1 pm. Sue will then be laid to rest in Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.
