Tammy Halbrook age 61 of Avon, Indiana passed away unexpectedly on June 11, 2026. Tammy was born on September 21, 1964 in Manitowoc, Wisconsin to the late Dennis and Sandra Todl. She graduated from Lincoln High School in 1981 and attended Lakeshore Technical College. She worked for many years in the insurance industry, first for Nyhart and the last 12 years with Cigna as a Claim Lead Analyst. Tammy was very good at her job, always willing to help others and enjoyed the challenge of new projects. In 2000, Tammy married Shane Halbrook and took pride in supporting him throughout his military career. She loved to shop and said the hunt for treasures was half the fun. She loved collecting antique glass and had recently started cross stitching again. Tammy loved country music and enjoyed attending concerts with her friends. She is preceded in death by her husband Retired Col. Shane Halbrook, her parents Dennis and Sandra Todl, and her brother Retired Gunnery Sergeant Dennis Todl Jr. She is survived by her sister Odette Balza, her uncle and aunt Steve Jo and Linda Ebert, aunt Sally Reid, and aunt and uncle Richard and Donna Todl. Further survivors include her nephew Jake Balza, niece Bailey (Shawn) Fillmore and cousins Kristin (Steve) Revello and Nathan Todl. Her memorial service will be held at Matthews Funeral Home on Friday June 26th from 1-3pm. In lieu of flowers please make a donation at the Avon American Legion Post 145 to support Veterans in need.
