Teresa "Terry" Lynn Porter

September 17, 1954 – February 13, 2026

Teresa Lynn Porter, known as Terry to family and friends, passed away peacefully following a hard-fought battle with cancer, leaving behind a life marked by strength and determination.

Born on September 17, 1954, to Martha and Bill Porter, Terry was raised with values that stayed with her throughout her life — work hard, stay steady and take care of your own. She was determined and dependable; someone who faced challenges directly and took pride in doing her best. Those who knew her appreciated her strong will, her straightforward nature and her quiet loyalty.

Terry attended Brownsburg High School and continued her education at Florida State University and the Indiana University School of Business. She began her career at Allison Gas Turbine before going on to establish her own business, Porter & Co., which oversaw her extensive real estate holdings.  She was also a licensed real estate broker and auctioneer.

She is survived by her brothers, Charlie Porter and Walt Porter; her sister, Billie Jo Weatherford; her nephews, Jeffery Weatherford and Jason (Ryann) Weatherford; and her great-nephew, Porter who she adored. She was preceded in death by her parents, Martha and Bill Porter, and her brother-in-law, Ray Weatherford and great-nephew Colter Weatherford.

Burial will be held with a private family service.
