Obituary

Thomas D. Clark

68, Indianapolis, passed away peacefully on August 11, 2020, after a long battle with cancer. Tom fought for 17 years against his illness, and because of his commitment to his health, his family, and a love of life, those years were beautiful, full of adventure, and wonderfully lived.

He was born in Terre Haute, Indiana.  His loving parents, Forest and Marjorie Clark, preceded him in death but lived on in his heart, and the hearts of all who knew them, always.  A graduate of Indiana State University, Tom was a Certified Public Accountant and a partner with Kemper CPA Group for 28 years before finishing his career as the CFO for Vermillion County Depot Reuse Authority.  He was active in many civic, community, and professional organizations throughout his life, including the IMA, the Indiana CPA Society, Terre Haute Council on Domestic Abuse, the Clinton Breakfast Optimists, and others.

Tom had many hobbies.  He was a passionate self-taught musician, and in his younger years he received accolades as a community theatre actor.  He took fitness and athleticism very seriously throughout his life, especially after his cancer diagnosis.  He was also a modest, but skilled, amateur carpenter.  Tom was truly a renaissance man.

Successful though he was in his career and his personal pursuits, nothing mattered more to him than his family.  Tom did everything for them.

Survivors include his wife of 45 years, Marty Clark; sons Barry Clark (wife Colleen Connolly) and Neil Clark (wife Jesse); sister Brenda See (husband Ed); brother Forest Clark (wife Karen); and grandchildren Owen Clark, Eli Clark, and Nolan Connolly-Clark.

Memorial visitation will be from 1-3pm Friday August 14 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg.
