Obituary

"For to me, to live is Christ and to die is gain." Philippians 1:21 Thomas Zack Estridge, 83, went home to his precious Lord and Savior on Sept. 10, 2014. The eldest child of Zack and Hilda Estridge, he was a graduate of Shortridge High School. Shortly thereafter, he married the love of his life, Barbara, and their 64-year marriage was blessed with four children. Tom retired from Dana Corporation. Tom's Christian faith was a cornerstone of his life. He tried to live faithfully and served the Lord, first as an elder at East 91st Street Christian Church, and later as an elder at Gulf Coast Christian Church (Pensacola, FL). Returning to Indianapolis, he became a member of Cornerstone Christian Church, Brownsburg, and at the time of his passing, he was leading a Bible study group in his home. Tom is survived by his wife, Barbara, his children, Margaret Kiesle (Temple, TX), Karen (Warren) Patitz, Thomas (Joy) Estridge, Robert (Ronda) Estridge; 11 grandchildren and 3 great-grandchildren. He also leaves behind his brothers, Kenneth (Annie) Estridge, David Estridge, Phillip (Barbara) Estridge, and Keith Estridge, his sister Marcia (Ben) Richey, and numerous nieces and nephews. Funeral services are scheduled for Saturday, Sept. 13, 2014 at noon at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with visitation from 10am until noon.
