Thomas Allen Wells
61, passed away on Saturday, March 9, 2013 at home with family due to terminal cancer. Tom was born in Sharon, PA, in 1951 to Helen (Allen) and John Wells. Tom and his loving wife Barbara (Zimmer) moved to Indiana in 1976 when he joined the Indianapolis Police Department and earned Rookie of the Year honors. Tom continued in law enforcement until retirement. Tom holds degrees from Youngstown State University and Indiana Central University. Thomas leaves behind wife Barbara, son Joseph (Marisa), and daughter Stephanie (Will) Freeman, grandchildren Zachary Emmick Wells, Victoria Kiyah Wells, and Benjamin Thomas Freeman, brothers John and Dennis and sisters Sabina, Joan, Margaret and Elizabeth. Tom will be remembered for his devotion to family, positive outlook on life, playful humor, passion for playing music, and sage counsel. He will be missed deeply and cherished always. A private ceremony of life will take place in Brown County. Gifts of remembrance can be made to the American Red Cross.
