November 30, 1941 – August 7, 2022
Tom Wenrick was born in 1941 in Ohio as the second child of Thomas & Ione Wenrick. He grew up on a farm although his dad was an educator. Tom had fun as a boy playing in the woods, riding his pony, Bird, and spending time with his dog, Tanner.
He graduated as Valedictorian of his High School and went on to major in math at Earlham College where he met his wife, Martha. They were married in 1964 eventually having four children and 10 grandchildren. They were married 58 years. Tom was active in churches wherever they lived and sang in their church choirs for several years.
His first job was with IBM at their Dayton, Ohio, office although he spent several years in Chillicothe, Ohio working exclusively with their Mead Paper company account. He next worked as the head of the Computer Department at Earlham College in Richmond, IN, after which he spent 28 years working in Indianapolis, IN, for Rexnord as a systems analyst and programmer. He finally retired in 2004.
Tom loved Gaither music and attended many Bill Gaither Praise Gatherings in Indianapolis. He enjoyed many hours gardening and working in the yard. He also liked being outdoors walking and hiking. Tom will be greatly missed by his wife, children, and grandchildren.
