Vella Izora Webb, 92, passed away Sunday, June 17, 2012 at Brookstone Terrace in Clemmons, NC. Vella was born on October 1, 1919 in Indianapolis, IN to Frank and Nellie McHenry. She was one of 13 siblings. She married Richard G. Decker on July 6, 1946. Together they had one daughter, Karen Eileen Decker Adams. They were married until his death on November 20, 1975. Vella worked for Eli Lilly and Co. in Indianapolis, IN as an Administrative Assistant in the Research Department until she retired in 1975. She later married Russell Webb, Sr. on June 23, 1988. They were married until his death on June 16, 2000.Vella spent most of her life in Brownsburg, IN until moving to Winston-Salem, in 2005 to be closer to her granddaughter and her family. She was also the "mother" of a West Highland white terrier, Katie, for the last 14 years.Vella is survived by two brothers, William and Robert; four sisters, Mona, Doris, Carolyn, and Bonny; her daughter, Karen; her granddaughter, Allison; grandson-in-law, Spencer; and two great granddaughters, Erin and Abigail.Funeral services will be held at Salem Funeral and Cremations, 120 S. Main St., Winston-Salem, NC on Thursday, June 21 at 5 pm. Family will receive visitors one hour prior to service. Graveside services will be at 10 am Monday, June 25, at Brownsburg Cemetery.
