Victor H. Overman age 88, Brownsburg, passed away Aug. 22, 2011. He served in the US Army Air Corps during WWII and then graduated from Ball State University in 1946. He was a member of Calvary United Methodist Church, Masonic Lodge, Indiana Football Hall of Fame, Ball State Athletic Hall of Fame, Michigan City High School Football Hall of Fame, and was named a Sagamore of the Wabash, and BSU Alumni Football Coach of the Year. He was a teacher and coach for 36 years at Westfield, Rochester, Franklin College, Michigan City, Mishawaka, retiring from Brownsburg High School as head football coach. Following retirement, he coached Brownsburg Junior Football and served 12 years as a member of the Brownsburg School Board. He also worked as a greeter for the Brownsburg Wal-Mart. He is survived by his wife of 64 years, Suzanne Rapp Overman; children Daniel (Mary), Nancy Overman Johnson, David (Debbie), Robert (Paula), and Mary Ann (William) Zweige; 11 grandchildren and 10 great grandchildren. Visitation will be from 3-7pm Fri. Aug. 26 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg. Funeral services will be 11:30am Sat. Aug. 27 at Calvary United Methodist Church, with visitation there from 10:25 to 11:30am. Burial will be at Oaklawn Memorial Gardens Cemetery. The family has requested a contribution be made to "The Vic and Sue Overman Legacy Fund" established at the Hendricks County Community Foundation www.hendrickscountycf.org in lieu of flowers.
