Virginia M. Kuhn
November 14, 1934 – September 14, 2025
Virginia "Ginny" M. Kuhn, 90, of Daphne, Alabama, passed away peacefully on September 14, 2025, surrounded by her family.
Born to Payton and Maudie Morphew, Ginny was preceded in death by her husband, Richard "Dick" Kuhn; her parents; and siblings Louise Everett, T.A. Morphew, Truitt Morphew, Payton Jr. Morphew, Lee Roy Morphew, James Morphew, Sue Jester, Robert Morphew, Gloria June Morphew, Rodger Morphew, and Joe Morphew.
She is survived by her son Kenneth Olsen; grandchildren Brooks (Loriann) Olsen, Claire (Austin) Squires, Ingrid Olsen, and Annika Olsen; and great-grandchildren Montgomery and Hartford Olsen, and Bentley Squires. Ginny is also lovingly remembered by her sister Phyllis (Kevin) Alexander; brother Mike (Brenda) Morphew; stepchildren Connie West, Donna (Dick) Dukes, and Kay Heitmeyer; step-grandchildren Drew, Erin, and Derek Dukes; Chad Karhoff and Shannon (Jon) Mitchell; and Justin Heitmeyer and Michele Sanders; several dear sisters-in-law; and many cherished nieces and nephews.
To her grandchildren, great-grandchildren, nieces, and nephews, she was affectionately known as "Gigi," a role she cherished most of all.
Ginny grew up strong-willed, quick-witted, and able to talk her way into (and out of) just about anything. Those qualities carried her through life — and if you knew Ginny, you know she had a way of convincing people to do just about anything she asked. She never met a stranger. Whether in a grocery line, a waiting room, or at a family gathering, she had a gift for turning an introduction into a lifelong connection.
Her professional career spanned several companies, including Karcher's Candy Company, Ex-Cell-O Corporation, Cummins, and later Prime Health in Mobile, Alabama. In each role, she built friendships that lasted well beyond the workplace.
Ginny loved life and fought hard to hold on to it. In her final days, she shared with her sister a simple but profound truth: "I have never loved Jesus as much as I do today."
As we remember her today, we picture her sly smile, her storytelling, and probably talking someone into doing something they didn't plan on doing. That was her gift — and what a gift it was. Ginny will be deeply missed, but her spirit and her stories will continue to live on in the hearts of all who loved her.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests donations be made to Ginny's dear neighbor Ann Davis, who faithfully looked after her since Dick's passing. Ann's family recently experienced a loss, and Ginny would be honored for support to go toward Ann's granddaughters, Emma (16) and Evie (10). Contributions may be sent to:
