Walter J.
Robichaud
March 12, 1935 – October 9, 2024
Walter Robichaud
With deep sorrow, we announce the passing of Walter "Tuggy" Robichaud of Brownsburg, IN, who left this world on Wednesday, October 9, 2024, surrounded by his loving daughters. Born in Berlin, New Hampshire on March 12, 1935, he was the son of Walter and Eliza Robichaud. He was a mechanical designer and worked at Allison Transmission before he retired in 1998. On November 18, 1958, Walter married Marvelle (McClain) and raised three children. After 64 wonderful years of marriage, Marvelle died in 2022.
He was predeceased by his beloved wife, Marvelle Robichaud, son, Terry Robichaud, and seven siblings. Walter's memory is cherished by his daughters, Rochelle (Paul) Hankins, Renee Whitaker, daughter-in-law, Donna Robichaud, granddaughters, Mindy (Doug) McClure, Samantha Robichaud, Michala (Tony) Chesmore, grandsons Kevin Forrest, Tony (Will) Forrest, Hunter Bamford, two great granddaughters, Frankie and Freya Chesmore, and his sisters, Mary Jane Gagne and Rosalie Beuchel.
A man of God, talkative, and the life of any gathering, Walter was never a stranger in any crowd. His decease leaves us bereft of a loving father, grandfather and veteran, and Shapiro's Deli mourns its most loyal fan. Even though Walter was no doubt a fan of the Indianapolis Colts, his usual pastime revolved around speaking with people and watching movies. He loved fishing and his hometown of Berlin, New Hampshire. Some of Walter's greatest accomplishments apart from being a man of faith, veteran, father, and grandfather, and a proud member of the honor guard were the lessons he imparted to us, which revolved around never passing up a good meal and dancing until your shoes fall off.
Memorial mass is 10:00 a.m. Saturday, November 30, St. Malachy Catholic Church, 9833 E County Rd 750 N, Brownsburg, IN. A reception is being held at 11:30 a.m. to 2 p.m., Saturday, November 30, The Oaks at Brownsburg, 250 E. Northfield Dr., Brownsburg, IN, 46112.
In lieu of flowers, funds can be contributed to "Tummies Minds Spirits". Contributions may be made to the fund at https://www.tummiesmindsspirits.com
