Wiley Cam Davis
Long-time Brownsburg resident, Wiley Cam Davis, passed away on February 19, 2026. Wiley was born in the rural Traders Point area of Marion County to Marion and Frances (Alexander) Davis on May 23, 1938. The family moved to Brownsburg in 1941, where all of them became active as community leaders. Wiley graduated from Brownsburg High School in 1956, then attended General Motors Institute, where he earned a Bachelor of Mechanical Engineering in 1960. He completed a Master of Mechanical Engineering at the Illinois Institute of Technology in 1962.
Wiley began working in the engineering co-op program of Allison Gas Turbine (General Motors) at the age of 18 and remained with the company after college. He loved his career as a heat transfer engineer and made many friends at work through the years. Many people knew Wiley from his lifelong service at Connection Pointe (Brownsburg) Christian Church. He was either greeting at the front door, leading the ushers, serving as financial secretary, or caring for others as a Bible study leader. Wiley was part of a large, active family in which generations spent time together weekly. He extended that care to his own family and friends, while enjoying Yankee baseball and high school basketball, always keeping his own scorecard.
Wiley was preceded in death by his parents, his brother (Myron), and his sister-in-law (Jean). His surviving family members include his daughters, Rachel (Brent) Bowen and Lachelle (Mike) Maurer; his grandchildren, Clint (fiancée Kristen), Tyler, and Seth Bowen; Brett (fiancé Colin), Blair, and Drake Maurer.
Visitation will be from 12 noon to 2 pm Tuesday, February 24 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 2 pm. Burial will follow in Brownsburg Cemertery.
