William Benton Phillips

57, Indianapolis, a life-long resident of Indianapolis, died Thursday April 29.  He was born at Coleman Hospital on June 11, 1963, in Indianapolis.  Benton was the youngest of four siblings.  He was preceded in death by his sister Denise.  He is survived by sisters Julie and Stephanie; loving parents Ernie and Jewell Phillips; daughter Maria and granddaughter Jacqueline; nieces Mayghan, Alexandria, Samantha and Lauren; nephew Justin and his wife Gabrielle.  He was a mechanic at Dan Young Chevrolet and Bill Estes.  He loved watching Star Trek.  His pastime was fishing and helping out with his mom and dad.  He will be missed greatly.  Visitation will be from 11am to 1pm Monday May 10 at Matthews Mortuary, Brownsburg, with funeral services there at 1pm.  Burial will follow at Maple Hill Cemetery, Plainfield.  Due to current health concerns, it is recommended that guests wear masks and observe social distancing.
